Pietro's Trattoria

Arcanum Architecture first worked on the family’s original with a focus on preserving history. Now the goal was evolution, a new home for Pietro’s that would honor the family’s Central Valley roots and introduce a lighter, more contemporary spirit.

The new Pietro’s unfolds as three distinct yet connected buildings arranged around a sunlit courtyard. The composition of bar, main dining room, and private dining pavilion breaks down the restaurant program into intimate human-scale experiences. At the heart of the restaurant sits the cookline. A glowing centerpiece visible from nearly every vantage point. The layout allows for layered movement, framed views of the courtyard, and an ongoing dialogue between indoors and outdoors. The design takes cues from Lodi’s agricultural landscape, its vineyards, barns, and open skies are framed through an Italian lens. Details throughout the space reflect the family’s history. A culmination and a beginning where the next chapter in a multi-generational story can be told.
